Lake Oscawana brings me peace and serenity. Located North of Peeksill, NEW YORK, New York State, Putnam County, bordering Putnam Valley, on the shores of Abele Park, Wildwood Knolls, Hilltop, Oscawana Country Club & The Appalachian Trail. In July, House Beautiful Magazine featured Lake Oscawana. Photographed by Timothy Greenfield-Sanders. It's a special place for boating, fishing, peace & tranquility! During the 1950s we would buy candy & gasoline (@25 cents a gallon) at Barney's store on Lake Oscawana. The Lake always glistened in the sun. And, there was a sense of a shared adventure with family & friends. There was something special about swimming in the middle of our Lake, Lake Oscawana! You were the center of the universe! I go back to that time with my every thought! It is hypnotizing! We hope to meet our friends at The Lake!
